Proenza Schouler design is a high-end brand for women’s clothing’s. Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez, are both New York-based. The pair originally met in 1999 while studying at Parsons School of Design. The wait lists are attributed to the fact that Hermès produces only five bags per week. Celebrities find the bags to be well worth the wait… and cost: as a Christmas gift, soccer superstar David Beckham gave his wife Victoria an £80,000 diamond-studded Birkin.

The Chanel 2.55

The quilted, chain-handled Chanel 2.55 handbag (so-named because of its February 1955 release) has been an icon of style and sophistication. for more than half a century Coco Chanel herself designed the bag, with its double flap closure and chain shoulder strap, so that a busy woman could keep her hands free. The 2.55 features a burgundy lining, a throwback to the orphanage uniforms Ms. Chanel wore in her childhood in a convent.

In the 1980s, when Karl Lagerfeld took the design helm of Chanel, he introduced the famous interlocking double C lock; however, the original and 2005 Reissue 2.55s maintain the original “Mademoiselle” front locks. Those with the double C trademark lock are called “Classic Flaps.”

What Does Your Perfume Say About You?  Choose the Right Designer Fragrance to Reflect Your Style

Some of us like to dress up.  We wear skirts and high heels every day.  Others are more comfortable in jeans and loafers.  And some would wear a bathing suit and flip flops every day.

You have a definite style when it comes to your wardrobe.  You know exactly how you want to look to the rest of the world.

But what about how you smell?

Science has proven that scent is the sense most closely linked to memory.  So the way you smell makes a big impression, even subconsciously.

Do you wear the same fragrance every day, or mix it up?  Did you select your ‘signature scent’ or just wear that perfume Aunt Josie gave you last Christmas?  Or do you not wear any fragrance at all?

Whether you are buying perfume for the first time, or upgrading to a designer fragrance, consider the following basic perfume categories, and what each represents:

FLORAL:  Floral perfumes are centered on, you guessed it, flowers.  These perfumes are light, and very feminine.    Designer fragrances that fall into this category include Marc Jacobs Daisy, Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker and Dior Forever and Ever perfumes.  If you’re a romantic, a floral perfume is a good choice.  And for daytime wear to work at the office, a floral perfume that is pleasant, but light and not overpowering, is always smart.

FRUITY:  Inspired by the scent of fruits,  these fragrances are energetic and usually a little sweet.    If you are generally upbeat and optimistic, a fruity perfume is for you.  CK One, a unisex fragrance from Calvin Klein,  is a great example, with dominant tones of papaya and pineapple.  Gucci is another fragrance with fruity tones.

Designer perfumes that combine floral and fruity tones beautifully include Light Blue, by Dolce and Gabbana;  it’s casual, classy fragrance has hints of apple as well as musk, rose and jasmine.   Dolly Girl by Ana Sui uniquely mixes cinnamon with jasmine and magnolia, it is lovely.

GREEN:  Inspired by clean, green grass.  Elizabeth Arden Blue Grass is an excellent example.  If you’re sporty and fun-loving, consider a green scent.

WOODY:  These perfumes are favored by earthy, sensual people.  They incorporate the smells of the forest:  leaves, bark, moss and wood.  Their keynote scents often include patchouli, sandalwood and cedar.  Cool Water by Davidoff is a great example of a woody scent, it combines woody notes with citrus and ocean air.

ORIENTAL:  Perfumes in this category are rich and often lingering.  They incorporate spices, and heavier floral scents.   These perfumes are not for the shy woman.  A classic designer fragrance in this category include Samsara by Guerlain, which combines amber, oriental florals and vanilla in a delightful, heady combination.  Other lovely fragrances in this category are Angel la Rose by Thierry Mugler and Versace Woman by Gianni Versace.
